A prototype Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) for patrol operations in open sea
Following the extensive growth of autonomous operating vehicles, TTSS unit designs, develops and constantly improves a prototype system for autonomous operation in open seas. Initially oriented (but not limited to) for patrol operations, the 1st generation vehicle (USV-1) was built over a conventional RIB inflatable boat.
The need for a low cost vessel along with the weight decrease requirement lead to the adaptation of a foam based vessel as a 2nd generation prototype (USV-2). This is the current working prototype which includes (except autonomous operation) the use of computer vision system for identifying humans or other objects in the sea as well as the ability to transmit 24h real time video in a nearby coastal operation centre.
